How would a stand up fight between Tawanchai vs Max Holloway go?

Who wins the BMF belt?
As a general rule of thumb, you can safely assume that an MMA fighter would lose to a Muay Thai fighter or Kickboxer in a striking context -- of course, the roles are reversed if you put the strikers in an MMA context. This logic should take care of basically all 'MMA guy vs MT/KB guy' questions.

The only stand up fight that would somewhat be competitive between them would be under Western Boxing.

Any KB/MT ruleset Max would be in massive trouble.
Any MMA Ruleset Tawanchai would be in massive trouble.

M. Rampage would disagree but thats only the exception making the rule valid

lol Bunch of Thai fanboys.. Max can beat him

Yeah, why would some Thai guy be good at Muay Thai?
Thai Boxing.. more like Indochina Boxing. Thailand is not the origin

Thai rules are not different from the stand up of MMA, the best strikers in MMA can beat them

It's pretty different still. Not to mention the meta strategy changes things heavily.

There are a lot of techniques that are used in Muay Thai at a higher frequency that you wouldn't see in MMA because either the rules make it less effective or most fighters are not trained well enough to use them (because it isn't Muay Thai).

Max Holloway is a great volume puncher but when has he demonstrated elite Muay Thai? Not many people can get far in Muay Thai from just punching.

Tawanchai isn't just some random Thai guy. He is one of the best Thai fighters in the world and he is in his prime. Max would have a better chance at beating a good boxer at boxing, and he wouldn't have much of a chance there either.

Listen to Gabriel Varga how he beat Lerdzila.. he changed things, he didnt fought him Thai style, every foreigner who does that would lost

There is a lot to exploit from the way Thais figth.. if is a typical Thai that has no footwork, not great punching.. would be beat by the best MMA strikers.. specially if is small gloves and is not in a small ring

You're using a Kickboxer beating a Muay Thai fighter in a Kickboxing fight as evidence that a MMA fighter could beat a Muay Thai fighter in a Muay Thai fight -- that's a pretty stupid line of thinking. Also, do you think Gabriel Varga is the first person to formulate strategies to beat the Thai style, too? If you watched his video about the Lerdsila fight and were surprised by strategies like 'hitting the body if they move their head a lot' or 'don't let his showboating bother you' then you need to spend more time training and less time on forums.

Tawanchai lost to a high school teacher before so it's not that crazy
that fight was in kickboxing rulse though
Max has a decent chance in kcikboxing rules

Couldn't have said it better.

lol Another fanboy

Listen to Varga.. how he changed the way he kicked even, all that translates to Thai rules

No i don't think he was the first.. i didn't think i had to mention everybody

No i wasn't surprised.. is common sense, those foreign Thai fanboys like you who fought him didn't did it, thats why Lerdsila beat them

We are talking about stand up fighters in a stand up fight.. forget about the MMA, Kickboxing and Muay Thai name. I just mentioned the Thai style, they have a style, there is a way they fight and foreigners copy that, Muay Thai is just rules.. is not the style.. is like Boxing and those styles by Countries, is just that Boxing is more "global"
