Volk is also likely just saying this to make people remember the fact he has owned Holloway.
I get it but lame.

He won't lose shit in the first fight, he'd still have his belt. The rematch was him rolling the dice. After taking Islam a weight up to his closest fight and risking everything on the Islam fight on a week's notice.
He might be at the top of the BMF list.
When was Masvidal that guy? He was a crafty lazy striker not some meet in the middle and bang guy.Yea but the BMF title is also based on how a person fights. Volk is not a "let's throw down" type of fighter.

To be fair, Islam was the one risking everything. His title, losing to someone a weight down, fighting again someone who some people thought beat you the first time, etc. What did Volkanovski really risk? He still keeps his title, he's looking better with the bosses by saving a fight (because apparently Gamrot being the official backup means nothing?), and he has the chance to win a second title. Fighting for another title always favors the challenger in terms of risk to reward. After taking Islam a weight up to his closest fight and risking everything on the Islam fight on a week's notice.

The BMF belt went from a joke contested by two journeymen and awarded by a pro wrassler to the most coveted belt in UFC
He risked his confidence, consciousness, and chin and lost all three. No doubt it was factor in him losing his FW title in his very next fight. He was literally risking nothing for either fight. His belt wasn't on the line.
But anyway, thanks for posting. I really enjoy listening to Volk talk about fighters and fighting. Would love to have a beer with him and listen to his stories.
Showing your ignorance here. Royal Rumble has 30 entrants usually. Learn how to MMA bro.I think the next evolution of the BMF title should be a Hell in a Cell match, a ladder match or a Royal Rumble with a dozen fighters in the cage at the same time.
