Volk within reason to call out other contenders. He beat Max convincingly their last fight. Losing to Islam does not knock him down much. Topuria loss hard to guage since Max has not faced him. Now that Max has a recent highlight win over a big name a Volk rematch at heavier weight more interesting. If Topuria not in either Max or Volk radar then could support a BMF for them. Not the greatest matchup and would not be as popular as other matchups but could probably pull it off .

To be fair, Islam was the one risking everything. His title, losing to someone a weight down, fighting again someone who some people thought beat you the first time, etc. What did Volkanovski really risk? He still keeps his title, he's looking better with the bosses by saving a fight (because apparently Gamrot being the official backup means nothing?), and he has the chance to win a second title. Fighting for another title always favors the challenger in terms of risk to reward.
