Social Baton Rouge Will Split into Two Cities Following Court Ruling

LOL no, I just don't have time to waste on the likes of you who can't honestly participate in a discussion. You're more interested in pushing a point of view than examining the points of view of others in anything but the most facile fashion. I already explained that to you in the other thread, clownshoes, although in not quite so many words.

Get bent.
I wrote a thoughtful reply which had no agenda in an apolitical conversation. Does that really make you mad?

Sounds like the town's politicians should have maybe listened to its influential people if it was so important to keep them. Was all they wanted a new school district?

Just the reality of the situation. Not saying its right or wrong. No doubt sucks for Baton Rouge - that much is true.

What power had they been denied they were owed as citizens?

What is the minimum amount of power they should have had?

Didn't they have the same amount of power any voter has?

Well, their votes were meaningless as they were outnumbered by race essentialist democrats who didn’t give a fuck about their quality of life, education, or security…knowing they had zero ability to do anything about it. Short of seceding which they didn’t take seriously.

Do you believe that anybody with any power in the Baton Rouge government felt the slightest bit accountable to what is now St George? No. Which is why the organizers were told to fuck off and likely called racists when they demanded change to the destructive race essentialist, pro crime, bad schools progressive agenda.

Votes are meaningless and so is democracy even on a local level if there is no unifying moral and political principle among the citizens. Which progressives have annihilated over the past several decades with their hyphenated America indentatarian cultural divide and conquer agenda.

It becomes exponentially more bitter when the minority carries all the financial water for the city but none of the policy clout. They got hard work and taxes, the rulers have votes and only votes on what to do with their hard work and taxes.

You think that’s a good system. I think it’s unacceptable when the majority has a warped view on even basic principles of right and wrong.

It’s the classic 2 wolves and a sheep on Election Day example. It’s why direct democracy was never an intention of this country and why it’s a fail.

Democracy even in its most watered down form only works if one side can generally bear to be ruled over by the other. They call it minority consent or losers consent. We used to have that whether it was the church, the institution, the constitution, or just basic consensus of right and wrong.

Those days are clearly over throughout the west…and you can thank the progressives. About as progressive as cancer

That's not how it's pronounced, that's how Americans pronounce it. It's a French name Americans don't know how to pronounce.

I met a guy from New York with the same last name as me and when he introduced himself I smiled and told him that's not how his name is pronounced. He got mad and told me it was because he was American. I told him his name was Italian and where he lived didn't matter.

Not going to lie, we do the same shit in Montréal. Almost all our streets have French names but a lot of them have Anglophone pronunciations, like Guy street. No Anglophone pronounces it the French way, right @koquerelle ?
It is pronounced GEE? <TheWire1>

Latin American levels of violence, bad public schools, poor governance and corruption, and getting blamed for all of it.
Gotta give some of the credit to USA 🇺🇸 where credit is due

Yeah I'm sure these rich people are lacking any political agency
How bad do you have to have messed your life up to call a $64k household income "rich"? Lol, whoa, check out mr. moneybags here with his $64k income and no felonies.

Do you think employees of a company that's going bankrupt should be allowed to quit their jobs and work somewhere that's offering a better deal, or should they be forced to stay at the failing company for less money?

You just made an excellent case for black people over the past century, nobody has ever truly given a fuck about them and conservatives have repeatedly gerrymandered electoral maps to make sure they had as little power as possible.

Progressives don't divide, that's a conservative tactic, always has been. Just like blaming progressives. So many of you are in this just to "own the libs".

I don't think American democracy is good, it's completely flawed.

These people are choosing to close the door on the less fortunate. Every region has water carried by people in a better position, these ones can't stand not having majority power.

Great news. A lot of people seeking a handout and not a hand up. Why should everyone suffer? It’s hard to make progress dragging an anchor.

See my reply to Holmes.

This isn't being driven by race (in my opinion).
Not totally. I'm sure there are some racial things. The new city will be 55% white so 45% minority. Def lends itself to more of an economic divide with some other points being minor. But the reality of btr is they received a large influx of poor after Katrina that never returned to New Orleans resulting in increased poverty and crime. Baton Rouge was never managed well imo.

Literally it’s all they do. Are you just ignoring the fact they promote “intersectionality”?

That isn't division, it's analysis. Looking at the overlapping factors that create a personality. How could that possibly be divisive? You look closely to see what pressures are in play, and you aren't doing it to exploit those pressures.

It's like "affirmation", conservatives hear a word and pretend it means what they want it to mean. Affirmation is the therapeutic process of giving someone the support to make their own decision. Relieve some of the unbearable pressure. Conservatives sell it as pushing the trans ideology, which is explicitly prohibited in the treatment.

I'm not going to pretend progressives are saints, we're human. I've used the epithet "chud" far too many times to feign innocence. I don't know if you've ever noticed me complaining about liberal pundits on this forum, I despise anyone who can only see an issue through a surgically partisan lens.

With actual lawmakers, though, conservatives are overwhelmingly more divisive. They have to be, they don't actually work on issues so they live for the culture war.

I'm going to close out with the admission I don't think that's true of all conservative lawmakers, I know there are some really good ones. Problem is the lunatics get all the press, and these past few years of insanity have purged a lot of the good ones from the party. You have to know this is true.

Imagine if America gave a flying fuck about the poor.

Absolute horseshit, as usual.
Look at this conservative for example.

You guys find a grifter and pretend she represents the entire movement.

I don't suppose you considered even for a second taking a look at what more reasonable people say? Actual progressives?

You don't get to decide who's a progressive so it's convenient for your argument. And "all white people are racist" is a trope you can find repeated thousand and thousand times everywhere, even by faculty professors. pretending it doesn't happen makes you either a liar, or a moron.
And you're the one in every thread with the old conservatives this, conservatives that. How's that about "not representing the entire movement"?
At least have some consistency cause you're embarrassing yourself.

None of the politicians imo. They only care when it's election season. I do think there are major issues with the welfare system today. What we have been doing or the way we have gone about helping hasn't worked. We need representation that really wants to work on issues rather than continue down the same path. Americans give around 1/2 trillion in private donations plus around a trillion each medicare, medicaid and welfare funding from govt taxes each year. How the money is spent.... thats another story. When they legalized casinos in Louisiana... all of the money was supposed to go to education.. then we are still bottom group in education decades later

Everything white people do is wrong according to leftists if whites leave it's white flight, if they move to a black area it's gentrification and it they vote to separate from a city it's segregation. There is nothing these people can do that would make the left happy so they decided just start their own city.

Why dont you go cry some more.
