Thanks for the feedback. There's a BJJ group in Grandview as well (www.groundcontrolkc.com), though my main concern was that the lead instructor is a blue belt and there are a lot of white belts. I'm mostly interested in the gi training of Judo and not so much the nogi. The rampant Gracie cultism puts me off as well. Since I'm not the young stallion anymore, competition isn't on my radar and I'm looking at something to get me back in shape while providing serious fighting skills. In my younger day I trained in boxing and Filipino stick and knife fighting, but for various reasons grew away from it.

I probably won't try to post in this forum again and will limit my activities to the Bullshido boards. Looks like I've been misidentified for one of the neighborhood trolls and my last message (which didn't post) received a response indicating I was on administrative review. This group takes 1st prize in the paranoid category.

I guess I stepped into something sensitive with this discussion on Sherdog. I'd be glad if you can send me your thoughts on the local BJJ schools. I'm primarily interested in Judo but am open to cross-training from time to time as my fitness level improves.
