so brooklyn and queens are pretty good nieghborhoods? Gee i thought around columbia would be good since it was so close to the main area. anywhere else I should watch out for? thanks for letting me know about that

Shaolins is located right next to a lot of train stations, I personally come all the way from brooklyn which is about a 40 minute train ride. Shaolins is like 5 blocks away from pretty much all the local train stops. Keep looking around for deals, for example Columbia university is one of the best in the world, but around it is a very bad neighborhood...so if you got a "very good deal", it might be because it is in a bad neighborhood. You can try brooklyn or queens even, it will be cheap but just a little longer to get there. The train fare right now is 2 dollars.
