    Hi there,
I am waiting for one option to come in. If it does come in soon (I hope lol) I can see myself fighting some time at the end of November. Although it won't be in Sengoku or Dream or anything big like that. Sorry. As far as my injuries, they seem healed for the most part. So I can train to fight now. If the offer does come in, I will definitely let you know! Man, I can't thank you enough for the support. It means a lot to me. Cheers!

First off, Im a huge fan I think its awesome a fighter of your caliber still takes time to respond to fans.

Any news on upcoming fights Antonio? I had heard you had been dealing with healing up some injuries, was wondering if you would be fighting before the year is over.

Thanks for the time. Hope to see you back soon, I think youre on of the most exciting well rounded guys out there.

    Lol, awesome.

Btw. It's much easier to write vistor messages back and forth on each others profiles. I didn't even think of checking back here for a reply, lol.

I just started no-gi monday, and have gone each day since. I think I'm in love.

    Hi,
Thank you for the kind words and the support. I appreciate it.
I originally started doing Judo before I did BJJ. When I finally met my BJJ instructor, I would often divide my time between both clubs. Often, the BJJ and the Judo crews would get together and train at the Judo club. However, the head Judo Sensei was not too pleased with this whole cross-training idea.
One day, after a training session, this same Judo Sensei told me:
Antonio, you are swimming with the ducks instead of soaring with the eagles!
Basically, he was the eagle and my BJJ team mates were the ducks lol
My response: Well, if you are the eagle, then I would much rather be a duck
A couple of my BJJ mates over heard this conversation. Thus, they labeled me "duck" In Brazil they speak Portuguese. Hence, I was called Pato
Plus, later that weekend, I entered a grappling tournament with a Mighty Ducks Tshirt and won my division. So, the name stuck ever more amongst my peers.
    Cheers!

    I forgot to ask...

How in the hell did you get the nickname, "the duck"?
