Weekly Top 100 Players?

I have seen this as one of the three comments about a fighter before a fight, and I wonder what exactly this means. It seems pretty easy to understand. Seems like the player was at one point in the weekly top 100 players, but I feel like that can't possibly be the case.

I have faced three different guys with this tag and finished them all in the first round with little trouble. They didn't seem to be anything special at all, and one was actually pretty bad. I just don't understand how these players could possibly be top 100.

I am by no means terrible at the game, but I know I am not a top 100 player. I am like level 62 with a 75% win percentage, but there have definitely been fights where I have been dominated and I know the level cap is 200.

How are these people getting this title and what exactly does it mean? I just feel like it can't possibly mean what it implies.

Its utterly meaningless.

I have beaten rank 1s and then been put in the weekly top 100 for it.

I presume at some point in the week, the weekly ranking resets, and then it just tracks win statistics or something. Doesnt seem to take into account what rank the wins were against or any of that shite. I presume winning a fight just after the weekly rankings have reset gets you into the top 100 for the week momentarily although not sure.

That kinda makes sense I guess. If you win one fight after the weekly reset then temporarily I guess you are technically a top 100 player because there are no other victories at all for that week.

I would think they would put a waiting period on the update of the top 100 to prevent that from happening and make the title more legit, but it is THQ, so I guess things like this should be expected.

Kinda makes it funny though because there are some people who brag about the title and it seems to be just pure luck.

it's just about guys that have done fairly well and won a decent amount of fights in that weeks rankings. i've gotten "weekly top 100" after winning a handful of fights in a row several times.
