Update rosters in madden 10?

Yo i've been playing the game since it came out but i could never find an option to update rosters. After looking it up on the internet i see you can update but have to join an xbox live match?? Is there a way to get it on the silver membership, my sub just ran out a month ago

If I'm not mistaken, I think I got the updated rosters for NHL 10 right off the Game Marketplace. Have you checked there?
