Many gamers were pondering if EA could make a game that could rival THQ’s UFC Undisputed 2009 video game, especially since UFC had the obvious namepower of the most successful MMA organization in the world. According to a press release from EA today, the company has announced that Strikeforce has partnered up with them to be featured as a “premier league,” which means that they will be headlining the game. It is no news that most of the games participants thus far have been Strikeforce fighters, including King Mo, Jason “Mayhem” Miller, Jay Hieron and the recently announced Jake Shields among others. Does this add enough firepower in the battle for MMA video game supremacy or will gamers stay loyal only to UFC? The real question is how well the game plays, but to a lot of mainstream fans this will be the litmus test to determine if another company can survive against the Zuffa monopoly.
