Can't submit anyone

I don't know what to do anymore. During one of those tutorials they teach you how to submit somebody. Either rotate the right stick or just push one of those 4 other buttons repeatedly.

But i can't submit anybody. And when i play online i always get submitted. What am i doing wrong? Even when i use Penn and i'm fighting like Frankie Edgar or something i can't submit that guy, even in the 3rd round or so. Why won't it work? What am i doing wrong?

Do you rotate the right stick like crazy or what do you guys do? Offline i can escape submissions by pushing those other buttons repeatedly but i can't even submit the CPU.

no, thats how to break/escape the sub, u wanna press the right analog stick/button im pretty sure, and then u lock it in by rotating it

The best way to lock the submission in successfully once the submission has been attempted is to push the A B X Y buttons at rapid speed.You can do it by rotating the stick as well but it's not as effective for me.It's also best to attempt subs once your opponent is short on the stamina gauge.But I've submitted high ranked players online with submissions even when the guy was somewhat fresh.Just apply the sub,and go nuts on the A B X Y buttons.Eventually if you keep trying different subs,you will eventually catch him (once you learn how to apply subs and get good at it).But be careful not to gas yourself by steadily transitioning,because if you do,and the fight is still on the ground,your opponent can submit YOU instead.

cool, ill give that a shot. ive just got the game and suk at subs so thx for the info :-)
