is gears of war really that good? I'm not a fan of third person shooters but everyone seems to love this game....i may have to rent it.

Yep for $30 over Craigslist. Wasn't a fan of the grappling system.

I've finished my careers in HW and LHW and hardly ever play it anymore.

I only really use it now when I want to simulate an upcoming fight, like Mir/Kongo for example.

I traded mine in a while ago, $40 trade in value, pretty decent. Finished a few careers and found the online frustrating (lag, quitters, me sucking, etc).

Not sold it but online its easily the most annoying game i have ever played.

Lag just completely ruins it especially when so much of the game depends on split second actions like reversals. The matchmaking system is also totally horrific so you end up playing any scrub, getting flash ko'd because of lag and losing 2 levels - which makes you want to kick your gorgeous flatscreen TV in.

I'll be waiting for detailed reviews before buying their next game.

I'm keeping mine for sentimental value since it's the first MMA (let alone UFC) game of this gen. But I hardly play it and unless they make some improvements and add some features I definitely won't be getting the next one.
