I agree. Tho IMO Macida will handle him pretty easily and win there is not much more they could do. Rampage is waiting to fight Evans so that takes out number 2 and 3. Forrest is fighting Anderson and evreyone else is not worthy yet to get back a title shot or there first title shot. So i agree with the match up also.

Rua should have fought some like Ace or Cane, so they could brawl. Rampage is the only real contender right now for that belt (or anderson, but he refuses to fight lyoto)
get machida's dick out ur mouth boy, to say he has no chance is just dumb.
plus he looked like his gas tank is back to full by his last preformance.

You're forgetting about Rich Franklin and Bj Penn..

Lyoto has never lost a fucking round..
Shogun has faced top competition in PRIDE
But hes not the same fight anymore..
what has he done in the UFC..?
"Beat" Mark Coleman.. far from impressive
Lost to Forrest Griffin..
Knocked out Chuck Liddell (On his way out) Also far from impressive in my books

You're looking like this is a walk in the park for Shogun.. just ignorant.

I think Dana White is secretly hoping Shogun knocks off Machida since its pretty apparent that most of the UFC brass thinks Machida is a boring fighter.. they would much prefer someone who fights like Shogun, Lidell or Rampage as their champion.

Which title defenses is your argument based on?

retire? u sir are an idiot. While a surgery does not make him quote on quote "better", it still does not mean his career is over either.

Lyoto never lost a round?? Hes got a split decision win against Sam Greco, had to lose rounds for that. Either way hes looked amazing in his last 2 fights and will probably take the fight, although Shogun definitely has a fighting chance and shouldn't be counted out altogether.

Your post says it all. Forrest should get the first crack, I mean he was the champ.

Well the thing is Dana White actually wanted Shogun to lose to Chuck, that just fucked things up for Dana. The rematch with Coleman man Shogun put up a horrible show. But the thing is who really would want to turn down a title shot? Who knows when they would have offered Shogun another chance so he went for it. I think it's a smart move for him because Lyoto hasn't defended the belt yet and his confidence might not be as high as say Anderson Silva or GSP. Plus Lyoto might be nervous for his first title defense, all giving Shogun a slight edge in the mental department.
