Yeah I would've liked to see Shogun get one more fight before a title shot. However, with Rampage out of the picture who else is there? Who would be next in line for a title shot besides Shogun?

This. All the other high end LHWs had dates and Rampage didn't want it, so he went to TUF'en up.

I have been wondering about the propect of this being too fast for Shogun and wondering about one more tune up fight. But the one I have noticed is, there isn't really any easy fights in that division.

Bottom line is, Shogun is a gifted fighter who, for one reason or another, leg injuries and possibly steroid detox, has not found his mojo. He did look great against Liddell though. HE was using angles, was unpredictable and finished the fight.

So, I am thinking, the more I actually ponder this, that Shogun is ready....as ready as he will ever be. Why? Because I think the physical recovery part is a done deal and he is healthy and couple that with his God given talant, I really don't think he needs a tune up fight and this will bring out his best. I look for a great fight that goes the distance.

BRING IT ON!!!!!!

1) i don't think he should get a title shot yet (but there was no one else..)
2) i don't think shogun's ready for Machida (I don't think anyone is really..)
3) i don't think even if shogun is ready, that he will win.

as previously stated : Machida via whatever hes feeling.

and I'm really glad Machida has started ending his fights in dramatic fashion.. it sure silenced the haters who labeled him "boring"

personally i didn't find him boring even when he wasn't knocking dudes out..

Easy win for Lyoto. Shogun poses no problems.

This fights gonna be average. Rua will gas after 3minutes. Machida will play it evasive as hes more interested in retaining his title than he is in entertaining (im not blaming him for that).

Rua should have fought some like Ace or Cane, so they could brawl. Rampage is the only real contender right now for that belt (or anderson, but he refuses to fight lyoto)

shogun by tko 1st or 2nd round

he's got much more experience than lyoto against top level competition. lyoto's toughest opponents were evans , silva and tito. he looked bad against tito. evans and thiago silva are newcomers.
