Guida is one of my favorite fighters. You can almost guarantee that any fight he's in is going to be exciting.

I'd like to see him continue on and sherk does seem like a logical next opponent. probably going to be sanchez vs edgar now for the number 1 contender spot for the lightweight title. but yeah, to answer the question; he obviously has the chin, and heart to be a contender one day he just needs to become more rounded. all the people who are saying he will for sure stay a gatekeeper are wrong in my opinion. if he improves his standup hes got a real chance one day.

Clay Guida is someone that the UFC is so great full to have with his clut like following and his always very entertaining fights now is the most technically sound fighter in the world no but he has or the UFC has never claimed him to be Clay will always be the guy that the UFC goes to for a exciting fight when ever they need one and he sure as hell will deliver

Guida is a great fighter but I think he is a small 155 pounder I think that he would be better served at 145 if the UFC had that division. I think he would destroy faber or brown at the WEC 145.

I think Clay Guida is Inhuman. The guy is born to fight, and whether or not he ever develops into a contender I don't care. I love watching the guy fight.

I would love to see Clay Guida vs. Frank Edgar. That has fight of the year potential.
I think that if Clay and Kenny fought, Clay would man handle him an win a decision. Kind of like what Sherk did to him.

Big fan. Like others have said .... win, lose or draw you know you are going to be entertained and he will leave it all on the mat.

I don't hate Guida, and I've even held him in regards as probably the most powerful guy in lw. But to me he's more lay n pray then exciting. And I've got to agree with Rogan, Guida's biggest competition will be a guy who has an amazing guard. Diego's no Black Belt, and he did some damage from the ground and Guida's got a few losses due to choke. What happens if a freak grappler manages to take away his windpipe again? I'm sure he's tough, but I think he's gatekeeper material.
