Im 5-0 right now in MMA, dominated most of the competition in my area using superior BJJ. right now I am training for 7 weeks in Thailand on my stand up to round out, and plan on going pro when I get back after 1-2 more fights.

Yeah it seems like the ground game is so foreign in Amateur MMA in my area as well.

Maybe Gracie Barra Calgary just had a good night but for this card I just fought on, me and 2 of my teammates all finished our fights via submission in under 50 seconds in the first round and we are just blue belts!

When are you planning to go to Thailand? I just bought a ticket to go in December. Planning to stay for just under 5 weeks.

Training at Keatkhamtorn for 2 weeks and Sor.Vorapin Gym 2 for another 2 weeks, leaving me a few days to explore before going home.

yea same man im from massachusetts and only a blue belt (not on here in real life haha) and have seemed to dominate my competition in even grappling tournys. I've heard Keatkhamtorn is good but have never heard of Sor. Vorapin.

I think its 100% your mindset. Im 8-1 as an ammy and will be going pro soon only because I know Im ready to dedicate myself to it. If you are having trouble outside of the ring or getting into the gym I wouldnt make that jump. If everything is aligned and you have no doubts then jump at it. I wouldnt get caught up on your record either. I fought a guy who was 4-4 ammy and he went pro after our fight (i won). He is now like 4-1 or 5-1 as a pro.

I am 5-0 right now and I am on the cusp of going pro. I feel like once I know I have the solid fundamentals of my game down its time to go pro. Amateur is the feeling out process where you look to find what works for you and what does not.

Also before going pro I try to fight as many different types of people as I can. I've fought the wrestler, BJJ, and stand up type guy. I feel like I need 1 or 2 more ammys against a serious striker before I go Pro though.
