At what point do you get nervous in your fight

I am sure there are plenty of you who are just cold as ice and never get nervous but for the rest of us at what point before a fight do you say oh sh*t what did i get myself into?

I would have to say for me I am completely fine and not even thinking about it until I start getting my hands wrapped. Then I am sitting there going man why do I even fight this sucks! haha of course during the fight its the best feeling in the world and after when you get your hand raised.

The thought enters my mind and leaves like a gust of wind passing through a open window in the house and right out the front door.....I try not to hold onto negative thoughts when the fight is imminent.
Once my entrance song comes on its time to nut up or shutup and I wont let anything negative invade my mind I stay focused on what needs to happen which is the domination of whoever is in my way.

I have dreams like that all the time and it def contributes to my nervousness before a fight because I will think oh crap I don't have power to hurt the dude ha.

I always think of every way a dude can beat me before a fight, and I guess I should think more positive but it allows me to kind of plan ahead for my weaknesses.

this will shape up to be a cool thread.

i'm yet to make an amateur debut even, and i haven't been in a gym for a while now because i'm broker than mc hammer- but i still train in whatever i can everyday and find people to roll/spar with.

but if i haven't gotten that nervous rush when i'm putting my gloves on,
i get it when i stare accross into my partner's face.

question for the fighters in this thread:
i tend to use my nervous energy well,
would you say all fighters get nervous?
do you think most of them use it?
can you think of any fighters who noticeably use nervous energy?

Vitor? Fedor? Manhoef?

and do you think Minowa ever gets nervous? XD

don't take that bad man, just be confident. Keep thinking the way you do, so you can correct every flaw. Don't get cocky. But once you enter the cage be confident that you critiqued yourself well enough to put that training and thought into the cage and be successful.

i get these too.

i had it explained to me that it's your desire to do well and to hurt someone in a fight manifesting itself in metaphorical insecurity. so having these dreams shouldn't mean you're gonna lose, if anything it means you want to win that badly.

Ok for the first fight don't excpect a game plan. My first fight I don't even remember because I was so nervous. It was like a dream when you watch yourself from far away. I remember hitting the dude and looking at my hand go up and down and saying wow im not even telling my body to do that. You will most def rely on what you practiced the most and have ingrained in your muscle memory. I was thinking about combos to try out and I straight went to wrestling and beat him like that.

My second fight was 1000% percent easier. I was not nervous at all as I stepped in the cage and it allowed me to think strategy easier during the fight. It does get easier after each fight. Now in my 5th fight I am supremely relaxed while in the cage and it opens up so many options for winning.
