What does a pro fighter think of GSP vs SILVA?

Just want to know how a Pro Fighter feels about this match up?! Because everytime this subject comes up in the other forums all you get is stupid responses from crazed fans. Maybe an honest unbiased opinon from a fighter/trainier can calm some of these people down! thoughts? enson? bas?

GSP can get it to the ground i dont know if he can hold Silva down i see Silva putting on that body triangle and just chilling on his back till he finds a submission, a better position, or just gets back up. Theres weight classes for a reason Silva might just be too big too quick and too skilled for GSP at 185. I wonder how GSP would do against other top contenders at 185 Marquart, Maia, Hendo, Okami might give him some real trouble.

I'm a huge GSP fan, but in all honestly I think Anderson would damn near kill him. I think GSP could get Anderson down a few times but over the course of 15 or 25 minutes he would be hard pressed to avoid eating some serious leather or a shin to the dome.

Over the past five years or so when Anderson has really dedicated himself to really developing his body and filling out his frame has resulted in him having what looks to be some of the nastiest KO power in the game. I don't think anyone in MMA under 205 lbs can overcome that incredible combination of skills and physical ability.

Perhaps at one point in time (2000-2003) when they were around the same weight GSP might have been a prohibitive favorite. But against this 220-225lb version of Anderson Silva he has absolutely no chance.

Well, no chance may be too strong this is MMA after all but I just can't see it.

Not a professional fighter, but do have some amateur fights under my belt. Consider the weigh in with Silva and Forrest. Silva was just as big as Forrest and Forrest is considered a big LHW. Although GSP walks around at 183, there is still a huge weight difference between him and Silva. I would rather see Silva fight Shogun.

Me and a friend discussed the other day that GSP's next fight should be with Bisping. It would be a good test for him against a decent fighter at 185

I would like to see GSP take on some one like Jason MacDonald as a tune up for 185 like how Silva took on Irvin at 205 for his first fight. Then go from there. I don't think that Silva v GSP will happen before Silva retires but I do think that in the next two years GSP will be fighting at 185 and possibly only at 185 having vacated 170 completely. We'll see though.

Silva would have a huge reach advantage and that might be the downfall of GSP.

Strength department I would think the proper bulking up by GSP they'd be close enough that it won't be a big factor. Overall Silva is about 215-220 guy tops(little soft) and GSP who trains year around all the time walks around at 190-195(pretty ripped) according to him in the past. Not hard to think GSP could get a good 10lbs added on properly with the right amount of time.

Supposely in sparring/practice GSP hold his own against Rashad and Nate Marq..

I guess I'd like to see him against an avg. MW and see how he does. But from a business side this fight would sell huge.

I think GSP could beat him. Just like with his last two fights, he would take it to the ground and dominate.

and forget about Silva/GSP, I think Henderson will beat Silva.

It might sound crazy but your new MW champ will be Henderson! How will he do it, just like he did in the first round of their last fight.
