Sacramento MMA GYMS

Looking for some advice from other fighters and people that train, I'm looking for a new place to train, I need a change, I come from a traditional Japaneses style training hall and I am looking for a more modern type of training facility. I know UTC and Ultimate Fitness are not to far from me and team x trains near me Americas top team has opened a new place up around here also, I believe Rickson had a place around here to. I think a place with a cage would be nice. Does anyone have any good suggestions or experiences.

Where is the American Top Team gym?

Yeah you mentioned UTC and Ultimate Fitness, so it sounds like you are looking all over

www.Marinobles.com
They do kickboxing and MMA, as well as some traditional MA stuff. Couture and Rmapage have trained there and Marinoble trained Urijah Faber early on. They're in Roseville.

http://www.muaythaithaiboxing.net/
Andy K's gym on Northgate Blvd. Just MT kickboxing, but the best in Sacto I'm told.

www.bruddas.com
Bruddas Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. They also have MT classes.

www.cassiowerneck.com
Cassio Werneck's BJJ school.

http://www.groundworksjiujitsu.com/
They teach Rickson Gracie JJ. Not too far from downtown. I dont know anything else about them.

I hope that helps. I'm actually in the market for a new gym too, so let us know what you decide!

Like we said above, www.UltimateFitness.pro is Faber's place. He's downtown.

Scott Smith's place is http://ultimatetraining.tv in Roseville.

American Martial Arts Center has a good group of guys. I used to train there but moved. Wade Vierra the owner is a brown belt under Cesar Gracie and there are a few purple belts like Nick Ertl and some other guys. They have a boxing ring but no cage. I heard they closed the gym down and just joined with another gym down off greenback lane. I suggest giving them a try. Nice and cheap and great training. Team Stockton has a cage if you dont mind driving to Stockton often. Diaz bros train there.

Marinoble is the shit dude. You'll come out of his school kicking heads off with ease. Not sure if they have much ground fighting there though.

I actaully stopped by his gym a month or two ago to check it out. They hav a ring, a cage, and a dozen heavy bags up. The place is pretty big as it's in a warehouse (not a stripmall). He said they are moving across the street to a larger carpet waerhouse when those guys leave in June. It looked like he had classes in MMA, International Kickboxing, some TMA I've never heard of called "Bok Fu" (I think), and some other kickboxing stuff (like a womens only class). It looked pretty legit, though the only MMA fighter out of his school that I know of is Bo Cantrell, so take that for what it's worth.

I got a few buddies who fight who go there just to train their standup. He is pretty well known for his stand up. I know my old kickboxing trainer started off training there and the dude has the best kicks around. He just won in the IFC last week by straight kicking a dude for 3 rounds til he mounted and pounded him out in the 3rd.

Yeah I was actually thinking about doing some kickboxing there, so it's good to know that people have heard of him and that he's legit. I think though that Russell was looking for MMA stuff (which they also do) but I dont know how good it is there.
