Someone checked my leg kick with there knee. I caught him with the top of my foot and my ankle was ruined.

Yeah, done that on both knees. Not pleasent to look at either. I have to wear knee braces know. They are soft, but still take away a lot of flexibility in the knees. Been kicked in the boys after a mistimed kick a few times. But to answer the question, hitting boney parts (shins, elbows, hips) can hurt.

Thats interesting. Once I began training in bjj, kick boxing, muai thai etc... I actually completely stopped street fighting. Thats one of the reasons I love the SPORT of mma so much!

I train. Kneeing someone has never hurt me, but leg kicks can be very painful if your opponent checks them. It's painful for both persons involved.

The most painful thing that has happened to me while kicking surprisingly was when i miscalculated and landed a kick right on my big toe. I'm not sure what happened but I can barely shoot in for a takedown sometimes because of it, and its been months..

And as I said, I was training all MMA for a bit with guys around here who are fighting and thin some BJJ and MT would do me great. Again, my question is, does anyone train just for sheer enjoyment?
My dad does. He is 43 years old and has been doing it for about a year and a half.

A checked leg kick does definitely hurt. I was advised to roll a 20 pound bar over my shins to deaden the cells or whatever. It does work but it hurts just as much.

If you have been training for a while your shins get less sensitive to pain.

Most painful thing I've done to someone was a liver shot KO in training. In my fight, I'd have to say my leg kicks probably hurt him more than the KO shots to the head.
Worst done to me was definitely a spinning back kick to the ribs from a 300lber. That sucked really bad.

I have a background in boxing, jiu-jitsu and wrestling. I have just started to do kick boxing. I think I have a decent kick. I can kick fairly high, but I am worried its going to hurt if I kick someone in the face (in a pro fight, with no shin gaurds), does anyone have the fear
