Pro fight sanctioning question for me

Not gonna beat around the bush. I have 20/150 vision (got it down from 200). My left eye is just a little blurred, but I can see basic things like color and object and such, just not small details. Never had a problem with amatuer boxing, BJJ, wrestling, driving, etc. Would I be sanctioned to fight a pro fight with my eye like that? I'm not a pro boxer obv, but people make a big deal about Nogueira's eye problem so I was J/W

u may have to lie, im pretty sure nog lies, idk how but u may need to start banging a eye doctor or slip em some extra money

damn man thats pretty low, no chance you could just get it fixed and live a better life all together?

In Nevada (which is the strictest State to be sanctioned in), the minimum sight requirement is 20/200. So you could actually get by, but there's no reason not to have PRK surgery. I wouldn't recommend just the basic laser surgery because some Commissions are starting to deny Licensing (Nevada definitely does and I've heard one or two others as well) for surgeries that require an incision and the folding of a skin flap within the eye. Their concern is the flap could be easily damaged by impact.

Also, your retinal status is more of a concern than anything else, so get with a good retinal specialist. I was born with myopia, which stresses my retinas more than normal, and was initially denied a License on account of a small hole in my right retina. Had to have that corrected, and now I'm Licensed with the stipulation that my retinal specialist has to see me annually to make sure it's not detaching.

Thanks sinister. They've talked about laser eye surgery, but it was when I was 15 and they said it I was too young at the time and I could go blind at an earlier age later in life. I need to look into it more tho. The nerve never developed, so laser eye surgery would correct that for sure?

and to "who", uh, they give you a vision test I'd imagine...

It could, I'm not sure. If there's a problem with your optic nerve period I don't know much about that. But it's worth looking into. If you could theoretically go blind just living normally at an earlier age, you'll DEFINITELY go blind earlier getting hit in the head routinely.
