I had my first MMA tournament this sunday.
We had head gear, shin pads, and MMA gloves.
We fought on wrestling mat, one round fight for 5 minutes.

I won my first fight on Technical stoppage (7 points advantage), and second fight i won on points.
Points we're given for takedowns, clean strikes to head.
Strikes to body weren't counted.

After my fight, i received gold medal!
The medal was given to me by Zelg Galesic, champion in cage rage.
I have photos, i will upload them later together with pics from jungle fight...

Can i get amateur fighter status, or this kind of competition isn't counted as amateur fighting in USA?

Dude if you had people swinging at your head with those small MMA gloves and trying to take you down or submit you that is an amateur fight (although the scoring sounds just asinine for an MMA match and the head gear must have been a pain, but the small mma gloves, that is pretty cool).

Yep, they were swinging.. My head hurt me for two days because of two shots.
