yeah im an amateur and it was supposed to be 145 so 150 isnt bad but its just the principle of i think everyone should make weight and fight at the agreed weight i have another fight december 8th but idk i agreed to fight so im going to but i was just mad becasue i was cutting too so man up and get to the weight he still had like 2 days till weigh ins but yeah im heading over to missouri tonight fight is at like 7 tomorrow ill keep everyone posted as soon as i get internet connecton well good lucj with training everyone

Hello all, my friend is a very decorated bjj fighter with boxing and wrestling experience. Trains with a lot of UFC guys in Vegas, but he's a 135 pounder. As such, none of his UFC contacts are having any luck helping him get fights (since they don't have his division). We are looking to get him an MMA fight in Las Vegas or Cali (or anywhere else really!). Any input on organizations with 135 or 140 lb weight division would be much appreciated. When I become a purple belt in BJJ, I'd like to begin training for amateur MMA. I just received my blue belt last week.

When you request/accept an amateur fight, how much time are you usually given to prepare? I'd like to know of an event that will happen 4-5 months later so I could really get my act together. I'm only 18, could I start soon?

With the Amateurs, it would be tough to get a fight 4-5 months in advance, but you couldtrain 4-5 months in advance, and then when there's a couple months left before you plan to fight, start looking for events. It will feel basically the same, except you won't know who your opponent is for half of that time.
