If any of you guys are interested in fighting in Alabama, we hold events there about 4 or 5 times a year. Our next event is July 28th and it is in Jackson, AL. I can take care of some of your travel and expenses. Our fights are very evenly matched and we take pride in that. Alan Belcher came to our last show and he said he was very impressed, 2 of his guys fought that night. We will be having 2 title fights that night 170 and 155. Our event is called Workshop X-Treme Fighting and is on Full Contact Fighter. I already sent some of you guys pms. If you want to know how we treat our fighters Timothy Moore a sherdogger came and fought for us and he wil vouch for us. Good luck to all you guys and I look forward to some of you coming and fighting for us.

Can i ask, am i eligible for an amateur fighter tag? I have had one amateur mma fight, but it was no headshots on the ground.

Do you need to be an active fighter to get one? I'm probably not going to be fighting anymore (was refused for a boxing license on health grounds).

If not, it doesn't matter.
Cheers.

My Last fight was WKA King of the Ring XVII Cruiserweight Champion
I am in the Marines serving in Iraq but as soon as I get back I will be fighting full time.
If you live in Virginia you should check out www.kingofthering.org/ for fights. They are sponsered by the WKA(World Kickboxing Association) www.wkausa.com/
Good Luck with your fights.

It sucks that fighting isn't legal in Ontario, you have to go to Western New York or Montreal

First post in this section! Have my first fight on July 6th at Clash in the Cage 16 just east of KC, MO. http://www.truefightfan.com is the promotions site. I've been training since last August. I weighed in at 169 on wed. and I'm fighting another guy from my school who is 0-1. He was 187 on Wed, I think we're fighting at middle weight. Looking at it on paper he should definitely be the favorite, but I am feeling pretty good about my chances! Any pointers on prefight stuff would be greatly appreciated. I have a feeling I'm going to be a nervous wreck before hand, but having a better idea of what my opponent can do is helping alleviate that some. Thanks guys!

Stay away from people/situations that will stress you out. Ask for a definite weight you going to fight are at and make sure he meets it (obv the lighter the better). You need to know how to eat/cut.

I would not fight someone from your gym unless you guys dont train together. Stay rested, hydrated (piss should be clear) before the fight. Work on what you know - it is to late to learn new stuff and improve cardio - so train light the last week, stay loose and quick (ie do light sparring, drills some shadow, light sub defence drills, etc.).

GOOD LUCK

Thanks for the good wishes guys, I appreciate it!

Greg - Thanks for the tips. I'm thinkin I am going to try to take Friday off of work and just try to relax. I will need to occupy my brain with something though! I asked today if we were agreeing to fight at middle and he said thats what he planned on, but today I was still 170 and he's up to 190... I even ate as much as I could this weekend! We haven't rolled since we found out, just kind of watching each other. I'm mainly concentrating on stand up and cardio from here on. I think my defense on the ground is good enough to neutralize him, so I'm aiming for his weaknesses. Hydration is one of my strong points. I drink a little over a gallon a day, so I think I'm set there. I don't need to worry about weight for this fight, I think next one will be at 155 though. Thanks again for the pointers!

You should requst a weight and rules for not making it (i.e. he gets a point off or something). 20 lbs is a lot of weight and if he is not trying to lose any, its a little BS. Not to mention somewhat dangerouse.

Very good idea to take the day off and relax. Play some vids, watch a flick or something. But no pron (you need your energy).
