I've done the both MMA matches and submission wrestling. Always seemed to have a silever medal curse. Couldn't get past 2nd place in tournaments. But it seems the curse may have lifted. I won first place at the All-Japan Shootboxing tournament (+77 kilos division) last Saturday. Here's the link to the results page on the official Shootboxing website...

How can I go about getting some amateur matches in California? Preferably not 6 hours from where I live, like that tournament was.
