Nose Surgery? Yes or No?

I broke My nose about 5 years ago and this last year it has really become bothersome to me. I find it very difficult using only my mouth to breathe during training/Fighting. I think if i had the surgery it would help me out a lot.

My Dr. said i would not be able to take shots to the face for 2 months after and he also recomends that i get it done when i am finished fighting. I lied to him and said i only fight for a hobby and that i was going to quit soon anyways so i can get on the waiting list for the surgery.

Anyone have any experience with a similar situation?

I have no knowledge of this but maybe you should ask him if it'll be more fragile after the fight.

It'd be a big waste of money if it gave you a nose that'd eventually get busted up bad.

if it is so bothersome that it interupts with you breathing, then you should do the surgery whetever you fight or not, my opinion anyway.

Do the surgery dude, it's only two months. You can still train cardio, strength etc. Just think of fighters that have been out way longer than that.

Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Rich Franklin may know a thing or two about the broken nose(kidding). I would wait like your Dr. has said. Pay out a bucket of cash and bam, there goes your money, wasted on someones fist knee or foot.

Yeah I dont see how it could be bothersome unless it was reconstructive surgery. In that case it could easily break again (if you still fight) and end up in the same position as before.

if its nasal surgery I would go for it. I want to do the same when I have some cash saved up because I too have had it broken and find it difficult to breathe out of often. Didnt crocop just have that operation right after or before the kongo fight?

My dads cousin has some business partners that have this technology where they stick some sort heated device in your nostrils that stretch them wider. Supposedly there is very little pain and discomfort and you dont even bleed. I dont know if its available yet in hospitals/clinics but the technology is supposedly already finished. I'll try askin him more when he's back from russia.

The surgery i would be getting is for Free. I live in Canada

im not too concerned with the time off , i could handle two months. Im worried that if i got it done and had it broken again then my nose would be fucked.

im looking for some advice from someone in this similar situation, or one whos had it done. i cant be the only fighter with a messed up nose on here
