Don't be nervous. Being nervous is optional. Think of your favorite fighters. For me when I started fighting it was/is Fedor, Shogun, etc. Cool as ice before the bell rings. They give me a great example to think about before I walk out. I walk out calm, until everyone cheering makes me smile. Once I'm in the ring/cage, I'm back to ice, focusing on warming up my body and getting blood flowing ..and visualizing my game plan.
The biggest "thank you" you can give to your partners, coaches, family, friends, and supports is to fight at the best of your abilities. That is all you need to think about doing.
Being nervous will steal your energy if you let it. Control yourself, it's another technique, just like keeping your chin down and your hands up. I hope this helps, but I've been wrestling since I was little so that has helped me stay calm and focused in competition.
