I wear a double mouthguard, Its a blessings because I am a striker and it definitely helps, I never had a problem with breathing through it ether, and I feel much safer knowing that it will be harder to knock me out while wearing it then a single. Yes I found this to be true as I used to wear a single I actually love to fight guys wearing a single to wear as when they wear a double I am like geez, tonight may be a long night.

I use a high-pro dual Brain Pad mouth-guard... like it better then the Shock Doc Gel single I had. Bought a low-pro Brain Pad but haven't used it yet.

Stars Guards MMA piece. Best $130 I've ever spent in my life.

Come to think about it, mouthguards are important and all, but don't you REALLY want to know what kind of cup to use???

i prefer the single especially after getting popped good in the nose

a little easier to breathe through gritted teeth

i think mouthpieces are complete personal preference though
try em both multiple times til you see what you like

Can't you get really good mouthguards custom made by a dentist? This is only something I've heard and I've been wondering myself because I've been wanting to invest the best protection for my grill. Other than the dentist is there a best brand or type to buy?

Personally speaking, I think the double mouthpiece is best for training but restricts your breathing too much in the actual fight. I've noticed a couple guys that train at my gym that switch guards between sparring and 'live' training.

I've used both and personally I don't really like the double as I feel it restricts my breathing, still use it in training (depending on the length and intensity of the session)

I guess it really comes down to personal preference, if you are gonna use a single then get it custom made
