ive burst my ear drum..
I slipped while i was cleaning out my ear and shoved the cue tip pretty much all the way in.
coz my ear was bleeding so much i took myself off to emergency, but aside from giving me some painkillers and anti biotics the doctor who saw me couldnt really tell me much, only that now i have no ear drum to speak of in my right ear. They couldnt tell weather i have smashed the bones in my middle ear because of the blood but im pretty much deaf on my right side.
my equalibrium (sp) is ok , my balance feels a little off but not to the degree that it should prevent me from getting around freely, it just feels weird when i move my head.
apparently untill the ear drum grows back i am at serious risk of infection, and if my middle ear gets infected it can go into my brain and cause brain damage.
i am worried that this may affect my ability to train for the next few months, as the ear drum takes about three months to grow back and i am going to have my third pro fight in august.
i have asked two different doctors and they have just given me the run aorund saying that i should avoid doing anything untill its properly healed, but neither of them really understood what the fuck i was talking about when i was trying to explain what it was i do as far as training and fighting goes.
so you guys are my last resort....if anyone has had any expirience with or knows anything about burst ear drums or any inner ear injuries for that matter and could shed some light on my situation i would be very grateful.

That sounds terrible, I'm sorry this happened to you. You kind of sound like you are looking for a doctor to tell you what you want to hear, which is that you can continue to train and fight. It probably doesn't matter the activity, nor the reason for doing it, just that you shouldn't do anything until it's healed. Your fight career can be restarted in 3 months, you will be deaf until you die. 3 months out of however many you have left until you die would be spent resting. Your pro fight career would only last a few years. You are certain to be deaf forever, you are not certain to be fighting forever.
But the option to fight will always be there, 3 months, 6 months, 6 years from now, you can come and go from fighting. The option to have your hearing back will be gone forever if you think the doctors don't know what the fuck they're talking about in regards to ear injuries for fighters versus ear injuries for non-fighters.
I was born partially deaf in one ear. If some doctor told me to lay low for 3 months and put off my life plans for that time period and do some other shit, and as a result I would have full hear, fucking eh I'd chill out and read some good books for 3 months.

Lay low until that's healed. Your long term health is more important than any fight.
Good luck man.

If it was me, I would take the time off and let it(hopefully) heal properly.
I value my hearing and wouldn't sacrifice it for a few months of training.
