whats a Mua Thai clinch? If it's anything like a Muay Thai clinch then it's pretty "deadly"

And moving down would be worse because the knee is coming up?

Anderson Silva vs rich Franklin
Wanderlei vs Rampage
Mark Kerr versus Ranger scott?

Knees coming up = nasty knockout and broken nose.

alot of what stops you from escaping is the posturing ie the hips etc a good clinch is more than just the grips and forearms it's the postion of your chest hips etc.

The knee from the prum clinch is probably the most damaging technique in standup fighting. Particularly if a skilled Muay Thai practicioner uses it against someone with limited experience in this clinch. MMA gloves make it easier to get a firm lock than typical muay thai gloves. There are ways to escape, the most notable is throwing one of your arms over your oponents and twisting your body.

Who would of though clasing your forearms an elbows together and holding the crown area you have a tight hold on your opponent.

Im like everyone else inexperience. Looks like its easy to get out of like just yanking your head back or moving back.
Yes and no. If you're in there with someone who really knows what he's doing, he's controlling your posture and neck and is essentially leading you around by your head. Hopefully, it never gets to that point, and there are a lot of good clinch escapes, but I wouldn't necessarily say that it's easy to get out of.

so next time don't panic and go on the defense......bodylock get the guy to the ground. then pound away. that mt guy will let go in no time.
Most important thing in maintaining the clinch is to keep your opponent at distance by using you elbows as a barrier to him body locking you. Thats actually what the clinch is best at. The holding of the back of the neck maintains height and control but the elbows in front of his shoulders means he has nowhere to go!

its more effective if your legs aren't like tree trunks and your knees are smaller so the force is disperced in a more concentrated spot. thats why anderson's are so effective. or if you have alot of tricep strength like wanderlei. it takes alot more knees from him to knock anyone out. anderson lays one into you and you're crying.
