Halifax MMA

I'm an MMA fighter from Alberta. I'm moving to Halifax in September and was wondering what's out there for gyms. Any info?

only a couple mma gyms but There's a new Boxing gym openning up on Gottigen st. in the north end in mid march, it's called pokaloo's or something, im gonna train there. It's gonna be really nice 3/4 levels nice equipment/rings etc. my buddy who just turned pro boxing tells me there gonna do mma there too but who knows. That'l be the biggest gym in the city by far.

otherwise there's lot's of little gyms like "titans" (small dingy basement gym) it's a renzo gracie bjj gym, with muay thai and MMA, most local mma fighters get ready there for local fights there seems, nothing fancy, couple heavy bags and mats, but if youre looking for good rolling/sparring partners, depends on what your background is I guess. Good luck mein.

Fitness Plus in Dartmouth is a great gym, full cage, lots of mat space for BJJ/Wrestling. Bag area for Muay Thai, and also an area with weights, even an olympic platform with bumper plates. Check out the facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=5508512090

Can anyone give a little more information on the gyms in Halifax? Perhaps a website for either Fitness Plus or Titan's? Perhaps some pictures of the facilities?

Here's a thread on it:

Were to Train in Halifax/Dartmouth Nova Scotia

Halifax is the place for MMA in Atlantic Canada. Bar none. I train at Wolfpack MMA which has a great coach and really small small classes which is ideal for me.

No matter where you live you should be able to find a place close by. If you have a car then you will have a lot of good choices.
