No way, there`s not a worse thing than having no stamina and a guy punching you, I know it

no way, absolutely not. if that 's the case then I don't consider you a real professional fighter. people are paying to watch you fight, your ripping them off if you tank early and just either lay there and hold on or get knocked out/submitted. I hate gassing during just training, would hate it if I fought professionally.

Gassing out is way easier in competition than in training. It has a lot to do with your mental state, experience, and opponent's pace and intensity. It is just another aspect of the fight that has to be managed.

Does Frank Mir keep fighting?

Hell yes. He might only have a round...maybe a round and a half in him, but he's still kicking some ass.

yes. but i have a question. ive read that BJ PENN wasnt gassed in his last match against HUGHES, but had injured his rib or abdominal muscle and couldnt breathe. do you guys know if there is any truth to this and if so, why is his conditioning always a factor? in his last two fights he seemed to be in excellent shape.

I have the worst gas tank on earth and I roll completely exhausted. It sucks, and there's nothing worse really, but I do it. I would like to think I'd do the same if I was fighting. Even completely out of gas you still have a slight chance. One last burst for an armbar or triangle.

He posted medical documentation on his web site. Some people called BS on the paper work, but some people are fucking stupid.

His gas tank still looks a little sketchy though. He's admitted it's a problem and hired a great conditioning trainer, he's lucky he can finish almost anyone inside of 2 or 3 rounds.

I would definitely fight. Not fighting just because you don't have the cardio to do it is like not fighting/competing because you don't think you're good enough, or that your opponent is better than you. Fuck it and fight. If your opponent is better than you and wins, be happy, you still got lots of training ahead of you.

Good luck doing either when you are exhausted.

People who dont train, seem to have trouble grasping just how hard it is to do just about anything when you are truly out of energy.

Thats why its so incredible when we see guys like Leben pull out a bomb when hes gassed.

Gomi/Diaz is the first fight that comes to mind - Gomi is just physically dead, his arms wont respond to his will. You can look in his eyes and see the frustration and fear. No cardio makes you a sitting duck, you are unable to put your body to use, and thats a terrifying feeling for anyone in the ring.
