I lost one while doing takedowns tonight. Someone found it a little while later so I cleaned it off and popped it back in. It probably doesn't have some nasty fungus that will rot my eyeball.

There is a lot of difference what kind of lenses you use the hard ones could pop out more easily then the softher ones. Even with eye surgery like Lasik there is still a risk of damaging your corneal when you get hit in the eye short after the eye surgery.

Good info here, always wondered about that. I wear glasses now, but when I start training, I would like to switch to contacts. Thanks for the posts guys.

That's what I thought too when weighing the advantages vs risks of getting Lasik. So far no horror stories from anyone posting here who got Lasik though. Everyone who mentioned getting the surgery has given positive feedback.

I was always worried about Lasik, and the off-chance that you could be worse off after the procedure than before. It's goos to hear the positives otu there, especially specific to the sport. It helps out. By the by, what is the normal "down time" after the procedure? Never got a straight answer on that. I've heard between 1-5 weeks, and that's a big gap.
