I have to make weight and I was mis informed and I thought the fight was at 170 and I need to lose 20 pounds in one week. The fight is at 165. Anyway who knows of any tactics on burning fat quickly? Also, does anyone know of any easier ways to sweat in the sauna? I only have till friday at 6 for weigh ins and in it is Friday 12:48PM as I type this. So answer me now!

how long after way ins do you have before the fight?
Immediately cut all carbs.
Your energy levels will dive down but continue training as usual.
I don't know your current training schedule but add in 45-60 minutes on an exercise bike at a very light intensity, preferably before breakfast.
On the day of weigh ins take 400mg caffiene and 2-81mg asprins with as little water as possible before getting in the sauna.
Obviously don't drink any other water on the day of weigh ins.
Do not salt any of your foods starting 2 days before the weigh ins.
Take a single fiber capsule with each meal, as low carb dieting is hard on the digestion system. Most supplements reccommend 5-6 capsules as a serving, get those. That way you don't over do the fiber.

I contributed heavily to another thread on putting the weight back on, "What to eat after cutting" or something to that affect.

I'm actually looking for tutorials and guides for cutting weight myself.
I've never had to cut weight before, and I'm just curious what weight class I should be looking at for fighting. I.E how much weight can I cut without inhibiting performance.
I don't fight MMA, strictly muay thai and am looking toward my first fight in the future.
I walk around at about 152-155, and I'm 5 foot 7. Always been a lean person.
I'd like to drop down and fight at a smaller weight class than 145 so that I can perhaps have some small advantage.
Any helps with links, etc... would be appreciated.
thanks

The water pills will work ( diuretics ) thats also were the caffiene comes in. And definatley dont salt your food, or eat any TV dinners ( watch the frozen stuff it's full of salt ) or ramen noodles

laxatives will work for quick weight loss, but it will cost you time in the sauna, make you miserable, and leave your ass hanging in tatters.

Good luck with whatever you opt for.

invest in some plastics and start sleeping in them. Shadow box and roll some bjj in the plastics for a good 2 hours you'll drop the weight. Everyones body is different, I don't like the sauna I feel it sucks the life out of you.

well dude you should let us know how that went, did you actually make the weight?

i know its late now but i cut around 12-15 lbs the week before the fight all i do is cut sodium and carbs out completely, this will allow your body to sweat off water weight much much easier. and i wont eat anything the day of the weigh-ins.

so to be truthful during the week i lose about 6 lbs just by only eating protein and then the day of the sauna ill sweat out 6-9 lbs, then after weigh-ins drink pedia-lite and eat carbs(pasta) and i gain about 10-15 of those pounds back within a day.

i would walk around 185-188,then cut to 169-171. but right now im fightin in a org that weighs in
the same day as the fight,so now i actually walk around at 169-170
