Boxers Fracture

In training recently i damaged my hand sparring and was diagnosed with a boxers fracture.

Has anyone had any experiences with this?

I fractured my 3rd ****carpal over a year ago. the bone healed fine I dunno there is a lump on my hand now and it still hurts today. almost like the lump is in the way of tendons.

Very depressing going into fights and with my hand hurting like this. I had a fight in December and the pain after my fight was so bad. Its not as bad right now but punching bothers it.

Does it affect your strking ?

Do you hold back for worry of unjuring it again?

I had a friend who did it, and it was a slow recovery. I think it depends on how much crap you jarred loose in your hand.

Unhappy

it sucks the only way to heal it properly is resting that hand for about a month.

If it's damaged to the point that it hurts on a regular basis, re-injuring it may be the only way to get it fixed properly...

Um well my last fight it actually stopped hurting up until the fight. Then during the fight I noticed it started hurting as i was punching him in the face. But I was so jacked on adrenaline it didn't matter. The next day is when I couldn't make a fist. Right now I can grip but hitting with that knuckle makes it hurt.

Also hurts when I am doing GI training doing collar chokes and stuff. Sucks, I really wish this would go away it would make me train a lot harder.

i had this when iwas 12. i shattered the knuckle under my little finger and cracked my hand pretty much the whole width of it. i showed it to my mum and her first instinct was to squeeze it as hard as she could the stupid bitch.

had the "boxers fracture" in my right hand, which is my heavy hand. took the normal time to get right and laid off it a little more after getting that halo thing off. besides the bump now over the break point, you would never have known it was broken. been problem-free ever since.

shouldnt hold you back.

I hurt my power hand (R). Depending on how badly it got damaged, one month may not be enough as mine flares up with heavy/steady impact even after a few years. Never really goes away.
