I may be mistaken, but I read a story about Bas accidentally stepping on Brian Urlacher's feet or spilling a drink on him at a bar. Brian was about to take it further, but one of his entourage informed him of who Bas was. Urlacher quickly backed off and nothing ever came of it. Can't think of many people who would elicit that type of response from an all-pro LB.
and this is the reason that Bas is arguable the best mma trainer around... If he could get people with natural ability to train 50% of what he does they'll be superstars... probably the only reason why i think Kimbo will be able to translate his street brawling to the cage.
Bas is mma royalty, well loved, well respected and with good reason. by far my favourite mma fighter of all time and i wish i could still see him fight on a regular basis.
When I was in the Marine Corps I had a friend who ran 3 miles in 13 minutes and another buddy who ran it in 16 minutes. I don't know why people would have questioned bas.
Sorry but I have a hard time believing a 13 minute 3 mile...
On June 8,1995 Moses Kiptanui set a 5 KM world record by running 12:55.30.
Little more than three years later this record had dropped 15.94 seconds to 12:39.36.
How many more years are needed for the record to arrive at 12:25.68, which is 5 KM (3.107 miles)
run at four-minute-per-mile pace? "Only" 11.67 more seconds need to come off the present world record.
The current world record holder is Ethiopian Kenenisa Bekele. His 12:37.35 in Hengelo, Holland
on May 31, 2004 is equivalent to 4:03.75 per mile average pace.
He ran an average of 60.59 seconds per 400 meter lap for 12.5 laps
Lol I sell crappy treadmills and most of them only go up to 10 miles an hour. Actually now that I think about it, our treadmills only go the speed you set them at when no one is on it. So when you set it at ten miles an hour I noticed that it is only going about eight or nine due to the friction and such. That being said, it is probably because they are pieces of shit and only have 2 horsepower.
