Why Can't I get Away?

So, I just started a thread about the 2nd worst day, but since my life is kind of fuller than most I figured I would ask a group (type) of people I seem to be hearing from more than usual.

Why do people continue to send me their resumes? I mean I do have high-level people begging for jobs on a weekly basis, but c'mon. The times (economy if you will) don't really justify hiring new persons, but my company has gone against the trend and done better than more than 92% (not a statistical 'guestament').

While we've done quite well (I say "we" because I consider my employees to be a part of the team) why is it people send 'blind' resumes thinking they could handle what I, we, do?

I know many of you on this forum are either hurting for work, or work in jobs that you feel are beneath you so I figured I would ask an honest question and try to find out why people try to shoot for jobs that are above their skill level.

Hopefully this will give our HR people some insight.

Maybe I'm missing a bit of back story, but this makes very little sense.
