Starship Troopers

Why: Watch the movie, but skip the first 45 minutes and you'll know why. Great flick and it came out of nowhere. It shocks me when people tell me they've never seen it. Quote: "Death from above!" Grade: B+

It's an integral part of any action movie. Even marked for death had a nice montage.

Starship troopers is good, but it follows the Verhooven formula a little too closely. I still love it and think that the graphics hold up to today's standards, if not exceeding a lot of recent garbage. The inclusion of Neil Patrick Harris is also a plus.

On the other hand, the book is awful, and I'm glad Mr. Verhooven veered completely off-course with the film.

Some of mine:

Assasins

Why: Solid action scenes. Yes, Stallone's acting can ruin a movie, but he was ok in this movie. The scene where they basically blow-up that apartment trying to kill each other at close range is pretty sweet. Quote: "Happy birthday asshole." Grade: B

Tango & Cash

Why: Freaking hilarious movie. Fast paced. Great flick. Quote: So many good ones, but "FUBAR" & "My panthose are creeping into the unknown" come to mind. Grade: B+

The Outlaw Josey Wales

Why: Simply the best western of all time IMO. If you've seen the movie you have to admit its at least in the conversation. Great acting, awesome story and Josey is an absolute badass. Its easy to root for him. I don't know what to say when guys who claim to be western fans say they have never seen the movie. Quote: "Dying ain't much of a living boy." Grade: A+

Equilibrium

Why: Awesome movie. Far fetched yes, but still great. I have no idea why this movie didn't do better. If you haven't seen it you have to. The last scene where there is at least 2 minutes straight of him shooting everyone like a Matrix movie and then a 1-on-1 gun battle which last like three minutes after he dices like 15 guys with a sword pretty much sums this movie up. Awesome! Quote: "You're treading on my dreams" Grade: A-

Ronin

Why: This movie has some of the best car chase scenes ever. They are amaizing. None of that CGI crap either. Just some wicked stunt driving and awesome DeNiro acting. Loved the movie! It still amaizes me when I talk about Ronin when awesome car chase scenes comes up in conversation and so few people know the movie. Quote: "Do you think you can stitch me up on your own? Good because if you don't mind I'm gonna passout now." Grade: A-

Leon: The Professional

Why: This movie is awesome. The Europeon version titled "leon" is much better the original US version "The Professional" as well. Yes a lot of people haven't seen it...wtf!? Great action scenes. And the final scene where he kills like 50 cops and...I don't want to ruin it so I'll stop. In any case, its a great movie. Quote: "No Woman, no Children" Grade: A+

Please feel free to make logical comments/arguements and add more movies to the list.
Equilibrium = Awesome movie
