To answer some questions.
-We've been friends for 8 years.
-She's dated other people in that time, and fucked other guys. I haven't felt jealous once.
-This was the first time I'd thought about it. It only came to my mind because I was drinking. I'll be going to crash at her place sometime this month for a couple of nights and there's no doubt there will be alcohol and shit could potentially happen. She's also got a single roomate, but I don't know what the roomate looks like.
-For everyone that said guys can only be friends w/ fat/ugly chicks. She's not that great looking. Not hideous by a stretch, but definatley far from a 10. I'd say she's about a 6.

Believe it or not it is that kind of friendship. There wouldn't be awkwardness to it. I talk to her about the most perverse guy shit that guys only talk to eachother about and it doesn't phase her.

why not run the idea to her before u try any thing like over drinks or something say y9ou know whats crazy we have known eachother for 8 years and never hooked. If she says she could never think of hooking up with you becuase you are two good friends or something than dont try it. If she seems up for it than ur in the clear

In all seriousness. This is not going to be the only ass your going to get for the rest of your life. Why take a chance of fucking up a good friendship. I'd say pass.
