Some Dude Just Tried To Rip Me Off....
So ive been looking for a new car for a few weeks now, and sure enough yesterday one popped up that was exactly what i was after.
So i call the guy up, go through the details, all sounds fine, low mileage, full service history, 1 owner, all that good stuff etc etc,
so i tell him ill come and see it.
When i got there, i gave the car a quick glance over, and all looks ok, a few small stone chips on the front bumper but nothing out of the ordinary for a used car.
The guy selling it appears like a decent sort of guy, nice house, well spoken etc.
so we take it for a quick spin and it seemed ok... didnt spot any problems...
So im liking it, just now wanting to look at the paperwork to ensure everything is legit,
but heres where the problems all started!
The dude wouldnt let me look at the paperwork!
Each time i ask to hold it he just tried to change the subject back onto how many other calls he has had from others who are interested, and then he would walk back into his house and say he would be right back....
so when he was gone i gave the car a more thorough inspection,
and to my horror when looking under the car engine I noticed a small puddle starting to form!!
Now i dont know much about cars, but i know water isnt supposed to leak from the damn engine! ... plus it had been a really sunny all day, so it wasnt like it was rain just dripping through.
So i tried to make one more attempt to look at the paperwork and again he would only show me the paperwork in his hands, and he would flick the pages real quick and talk constantly while he was doing it,
so i thought well fuck this, i told him id have a think about it... and left...
Then as soon as i got home i ran a data check on the cars registration plate, and sure enough when cars report came back,
not only had the car been clocked (mileage turned back), it also had 9 fucking owners since 2002!!
He told me it only had 1!
What a fucker, when i called him back to let him know he had been rumbled, he played dumb as if he didnt know "i had no idea" he said...
The sad thing is some other poor fucker will end up buying that pile of shit, and paying a lot for it too.
