Layne Thomas Staley was a God..

4.20.02. That is all.

***down in a hole and i don't know if i can be saved
see my heart it's decorated like a grave
i have been guilty of kicking myself in the teeth****

I was reading about the final 3 years (1999-2002) of his life, man that was some dark shit. Dude was 6'1" and weighed 86 lbs. when he died. Lost some teeth and was green. I guess his liver shut down and was shitting his pants all the time. There was a local bar in WA he used to go to once a week. The lady said no one would bother him, although they knew who he was, he would take a small table in the back and go sit down and nap.

I hear they are making a movie about his final three years. I hoep they do. That's some dark shit.

I remember seeing him on unplugged in 96, he looked about 100 lbs. and was just fucked up on heroine. They don't even show that shit anymore cause they don't want kids thinking it's cool.

I want to understand the correlation between artists and drug consumption. Very sad.

Dude, I think he got on it and just couldn't get off it. I had a friend from highschool that went that route. 90% never kcik heroine. We have had a bunch of deaths here in the D as junkies are mixing H and fentynol. This combo has killer qualities as I understand it.

I think he was just dark and it takes them to a place that lets them somehow feel at peace. Don't know though, never done it. Vicodin is as crazy as I ever got.

Plus I think they have alot of free time on their hands. I mean let's be honest, they don't have a 9-5 like the rest of us. It's not like they have to get up and shave and get into traffic by 6:45 to make it to work on time. They can lay around and shoot smack all day. Plus the money they have they don't get into trouble having to steal to support their habbits.

Fuck the TS is almost as smart as he is handsome.
Love AIC, love Staley (in a non homosexual kinda way).
Closest sound to early Sabbath I ever found & enjoyed.

Yes, I have AIC>Nirvana. I liked Cobain and they were certainly talented but AIC was bad....

It sucks cause Cantrell is a fabulous musician. He put a great album when Staley was junked out and in hiding in the late 90's. I was always hoping they would get back together and do something under the flag of "Chains" or "Alice". It's hard to find someone to replace LS though, his nasally soloes are pretty rare. But it looks liek they found someone.
