This was one of my favorite games - 10 YEARS AGO!!! Man, time is passing. This thread will pay homage to a game that required patience and discipline from its user. A nice change from a time period that fruited games the like of Duke Nukem, Quake II, & Rainbow Six. All if which were great, but Tenchu was much different.

A remarkable, yet difficult game that required the user to be as discipline as the ninja you controlled (Rikimaru or Ayame).

Tenchu allowed the gamer to control the engagement and was one of the first ninja themed games that actually incorporated Ninjitsu's greatest tool - stealth. Sneak up behind, attack from above, throw a star, or impale with a katana. Climbing buildings, sneaking room to room, jumping roof to roof, and ledges were all capable. The ample free roaming maps allowed the gamer to approach missions with a multitude of variety.

Tenchu was filled with fantastic Japanese mythology and fantasy as well as spectacular amounts of gore. The greatest pay off of the game was landing stealth kills that resulted in cut scenes of character bleeding out with a gushing geyser of blood.

Tenchu set the bar high and many great games have followed in its shadow.
