Correct. The scenery and the very cool small towns make a lot of the stages worth the trip by themselves. At the last stage on the Champs, they ride by a good 10 (I think) times around the circuit in Paris before finishing up, so you get to see quite a bit of the action if you stake out a decent spot. Last year there was actually a bit of racing in Paris, which made it pretty exciting for a final stage.

I'd not thought of that, but it makes sense.
The top spot was still up for grabs on the last day.
I've always been amazed by the announce team.
They seem to know something about every large looking building along the route.
I remember one occasion where they had a camera shot from a helicopter, but were having difficulty getting the uplink from the camera that was near the race leaders. So the commentator just started talking about the history of the estate that was seen in the helicopter shot.
