Every swimmer does it...at least anyone who takes swimming seriously.

I know some bicyclists and runners shave their legs

If you swim competitively then i'd consider it, but if you do it to keep fit then what's the point?

I know that I wouldn't catch any flack from swimmers or triathlete guys, I'm just wondering about everyone else.

I don't compete. But my legs are hairy. One advantage is that I would dry off much faster after swimming or showering.

The main advantage is that I simply will not have any hair on my legs. Not only does my leg hair get yanked out when I do leg curls on the machine, etc., I find body hair disgusting. If I had the money I would have all my body hair lasered off.

I do it for mtnbyking. I used to get alot of ticks on me, they would jump from the high weeds and grass i'd ride through. After I started shaving they had nothing to hang onto and I rarely get one on me. It def has alot of other advantages though.

If you swim competitively, go for it. Otherwise, isn't the "added resistance" a training advantage?

I used to do it when I competed. It feels weird when you wear jeans, like your legs are rubber or something. It gives you a slight advantage, in the tenths of a second range so its not gonna make much of a difference if you aren't competing.

Also, it takes a lot of time and you're probably gonna nick yourself a bunch of times since you're not used to it. Unless you really like the hairless look, I suggest against it.
