I'd say we have the best centre midfield in the world. We just desperately need some top attacking players with creativity & we'll be able to form a legitimate title challenge,

If you take out Alonso and add Gareth Barry, it becomes weaker in my eyes. Don't know why we're bidding for him.

It's a possibility yeah.... but think closer to £10M at the most. Essien has worked out very well in England. Diarra could do likewise I think.

Well Milan needs strikers.
Ronaldo is done. Inzaghi is like 35, Gilardino has been shit and they try to sell him. So Pato is their only WC striker. Paloschi is a decent 4th striker but they need some quality strikers in the mix...

WC - world class? I wouldn't say Pato is world class but he is definitely showing promise. I really do think that if they don't go for Drogba than they are missing out. Like you said, the only real striker they have is Pato and I think him and Drogba up front would be a perfect big man/smaller man partnership.

And there have been murmurings that Drogba has been unhappy since Jose left Chelsea. I wouldn't be surprised if he leaves.

Alonso hasn't been anywhere near his best this season, Barry isn't a spectacular player but he is good in possession and does get a few goals. I agree Alonso is the better player but on the whole I don't think it damages our strength in the middle, Masch & Gerrard will be the top 2 anyway. Barry will complement them in a 4-5-1 as he brings a balance so I think it'll be fine.

That Torres bid must just be gossip, don't think there's any truth in it.
Moutinho is a good player, would like to see him in the premier league for sure.
