Summer transfer window (football)

Is it just me, or will this be one of the most exciting and most active transfer windows ever in football? You've got top quality players at Valencia reportedly unsettled and looking for a move - most notably, David Villa, David Silva, Joquain, Raul Albiol, David Albelda, possibly Vicente. Valencia are apparantly in debt and need to sell their top players to make back money they've lost. Not to mention, that they're coming off of a horrible season.

I read a few weeks ago that a number of Chelsea players; Sidwell, Wright-Phillips, Malouda, Belletti, Sheva (obvious), Ben Haim, Lampard and a few other names either want out or are surplus to requirments in Abramovic's quest to play "sexy football"...As usual, the Chelsea manager (Grant or not) will have a huge transfer budget and the cash he'll get from offloading these players will bring in a lot of additional money as well.

Talk of Deco, Eto'o, Henry and obviously Ronaldinho leaving Barcelona along with a few others names i'm forgetting.

You've got Keegan who says he wants to buy 4 or 5 players over the summer, Flamini has already left the Emirates for Milan and there's talk of Hleb in talks with Inter. The Milan squad is old, thus needs a few new players...All these along with the likes of Maxi Rodriguez also available for free...

The next few months will be very interesting. I would LOVE to see Silva and Villa at Arsenal.

There are rumors that Gatuso is moving to Bayern Munich. It would be fun to see what he would do to the pansies in the german league.

Sheva probably leaving Chelskiy going back to Milan, if they manage to acquire Ronaldinho it would very interesting to see them next season.

I think Gattuso is one of the most over-rated players I've ever seen.

This summer should be quite eventful, but then it is every year. I expect Utd to spend alot, they seem to be linked with a lot of top players. Arsenal & Liverpool need to invest heavily, will be interesting to see what moves they make.

Just in this morning: Gattuso has agreed terms with Bayern...With Flamini going to Milan, this makes sense. I would have liked him at Arsenal though.

As far as i know, Man U have been linked with Huntelaar, Miguel Veloso, Joao Moutinho and most recently Sevilla's Fabiano. Apparantly Fabiano has a 7 million release clause, which is insanely cheap for a player his quality and coming off the season he just had, that would be a bargain. If they fail with him, than i think Huntelaar will be next on the list. The only real areas MU lacks are at right back and they don't have a target man striker either. If they manage to get Veloso and Mouthinho, that's probably at least another 30 million.

Liverpool don't need to invest heavily, they probably have the strongest squad in the premier leauge. They need to shape up their back four, but that's about it. Wenger will have a few areas to look at, especially if Hleb leaves. Obviously, they need replace Flamini and fast! Diaby might be ready to partner Fabregas in the middle and Fran Merida should be ready to start making appearances off the sub bench...Also, Carlos Vela will be coming back from loan to Osasuna. Wenger said that he's looking to sign one defensive player and one play maker.

Fabregas ain't going nowhere.

Are you kidding? Liverpool have the strongest squad in the premier league? By numbers maybe but without Gerrard or Torres they are an ordinary team

They don't have the best first team, but as far as squad depth goes, i believe they have the most quality options available...You could argue for Chelsea as well. Of course, they wouldn't be the same without Torres and Gerrard but no team would be the same if they had two key players unavailable.

Thats true but you could pick any 2 Man Utd players or chelsea players and they would still perform to a high level, as far as squad depth and cover goes you have to say chelsea but first eleven I go with United.
