Strongman contests

Anyone train for strongman events? I've done some simple tire flipping and a modified version of atlas stones. A lot tougher than it looks.

I have been trying to collect strongman equipment.

So far I have a 2inch thickbar(78lbs) I use for most of my lifts.

I plan on making some atlas stones and I am still searching for a free keg and tractor tire. I would like to compete someday but I am still a novice lifter.

I remember seeing Kevin Nee on MTV's True Life training to get into strongman events. Then I was watching a WSM event from last year and they were talking about this new guy on the scene and I was like holy shit, that's the same dude.

If you go to the Strength and Power Forum, you'll see there are a few that train strongman. It's definitely a tough and demanding sport.

I saw that, too. I was real happy for the kid, but looking at the competition, he seems too small. He's WAY improved, but he's short for a lot of the events. They always seem to show these competitions in marathons and if I catch it on, I can't turn it off until I know who wins everything!
