Something I don't understand

Something I don't understand

How can people devout their lifes to sports that aren't fun?

Running, heck almsot every endurance sport

I mean if you cannot fool around playing it in your driveway/backyard it just is a pain

Several of the sports measure the same things, I can understand the sense of accomplishment but why not use your talent for a sport that is fun to do, marathon runners probably have better genetics for endurance then anybody else so they would be miles ahead of anybody else if they played a ball sport, even thou they wouldn't dedicate as much time to endurance training, can anyone say acctual running is fun?

I, for one, enjoy running. Just like how I also enjoy to lift weights. I also enjoy biking and swimming. Some people don't enjoy lifting weights, running, biking, or swimming but I can. It's not that hard to imagine. Running is even more fun when you can run in a place with a great view or backdrop.

I love running also. The first twenty steps from the starting point always remind me that I am going to have a good and productive day.

Not necessarily so. We have alot of Marathon Runners come in to our Boxing gym, who can't handle the mitt work much less actual sparring.

It's a different type of fitness. They are overwhelmingly cardiovasuclarly fit, sure. Endurance? Yes, but in the sense they have to keep their legs moving fast to run.

That DOES NOT translate into another sport automatically. Again, I have Triathlon champions come into the boxing gym, who can't endure flurry drills. They don't have the speed, they gas quicker than you'd expect, because they can't handle oxygen deprivation.

And sorry, Marathon running do not deprive you of oxygen like another sport such as boxing does.

They're fit, they have enduracne, but that does not mean they'd excel in another sport.

I do not enjoy sports involving balls and pucks. I love running though.

Why on earth would throwing a baseball be fun? What is the attraction in that? I will never understand it.

Running on the other hand, is great.

Running is addicting. Especially once you begin to notice improvement in stamina and speed.

1. It doesn't cost a dime.
2. You don't need to depend on anyone to do it.
3. Injuries are rare.
4. Anyone that can walk and doesn't have a heart condition can do it.
5. It's probably the single best exercise you can do.

It's all about personal preferences. I'm sure the majority of people that run consistantly would describe it as fun and enjoyable otherwise I doubt they would keep it up. It just like people who listen to country music. Just because I don't like it doesn't mean it's not enjoyable to many others.

I've always wondered why girls dedicate themselves to cheerleading and poms. Like I went to a Pistons game not too long ago and they have the automotion girls. Theyre basically a glorified pom team. The thought occurred to me, that these girls dedicated their lives to become eye candy for drunk pricks at a basketball game.
