With the recent UFC events in Europe, it makes me wonder if hooligans will attend, or attend the UFC events.
I figure it would be right up their alley with the fighting and all. Also I wouldnt be suprised, if a fighter from a hooligan gang became a fighter. Does anyone know of any?

I find the hooligan scene interesting but slightly ridiculous. Being from the states we have numerous teams we enjoy watching, but none I would fight over. Maybe the Texans if we could build a solid O line and make the playoffs. Most of the Fans would be too lazy to actually show up and fight, they would rather sit on their laptops and talk crap via internet.

Yes. It was a gigantic problem in England until they started to crack down. Those movies don't convey how bad it is. I suggest watching a few documentaries on it. The lead actor from the football factory also had a TV series where he would go around, interview and check out all the biggest most dangerous firms in the world.

It gets pretty intense.

It's alot different when all you have in your entire life to look forward to is a football game. When you have been watching and supporting the teams longer then anyone who is even involved with the club. A lot of the guys from the firms are very poor, and have absolutly nothing in there lives to take pride in except their football club. It's a way of life. Much like how America ghetto's are filled with poor immigrants who sell drugs and murder people for no reason. It's just a way of life.

Isn't fist fights quite common in MAdison Square GArden? mostly in regards to hockey but...

Riots when the red sox won?
there is nothing close to football hoolligans in America. although there may be random fistfights, there a no organized gangs around specific teams meeting other fans for brawls.

Sports are the one area where we are less violent then the rest of the world.

although i understand what you're saying, people can be just as fanatic about their sports teams here. The difference is they go to the games to watch, not fight

Rise of the footsoldier wasn't as good as I expected it to be.

It's a casual life is in my opinion the best hooligan related movie:

Part 1:
YouTube - It's a Casual Life Part 1/2
Part 2:
YouTube - It's a Casual Life Part 2/2

In 1998, at world cup in Marseille, English hooligans got their ass handed to them by the local chavs. They were running for their lives like rabbits, it was all over the news, it was hilarious.
