I don't know what it's called, but I've done the medieval style battling. You get in full fear and use full power, usually with weapons wrapped in duct tape, shields, maces, flails, clubs, swords, whatever. Now that's a man's sport.

it sould actually be pretty cool i think. the fencers at my college seemed like massive dorks though. even funnier, there were these guys i'd see out on the athletic field dressed up like medievel knights tolchocking each other with wooden broadswords.

It ain't random, as a matter of fact it's really difficult and counter-intuitive. Anytime you think something is random, try it against someone who is good!

Fencing is a very legitimate sport, based on speed, accuracy, timing, footwork, it's almost like boxing with a sabre.

Hey you're in Alexandria. Do you have any fencing equipment? You could relate to the forum how non-functional and useless my machine made body/skills are.

I could show you a drill or two involving randomness too. One is hitting quadrants of a wall target randomly. The other is catching a bouncy ball that is irregularly shaped to increase hand speed. The difficulty of these is quite high because you don't know what is coming in advance- your brain can't "brace" against the outcome.

I think fencing is probably the martial art/martial sport with the fastest movement. Amazing how slow strength training and thinking creatively and differently has helped me with it.

Cheers!

I think he meant that it is a strange/out of the ordinary sport, not that there is no skill involved.

I'm sure he's dying to meet another man over the internet. He probably just doesn't roll that way.

Take solace in knowing their are other men out their for you, though.
