For anyone with soccer knowledge, is that the goalies fault or was it just a real flukey bounce? I would think that goalie would be killed if that was some important international game.

The goalie is somewhat out of position but the reality is that looks like a turf field and that is NOT a natural bounce by any stretch of the imagination.

When I first saw that bounce, I thought the vid was shopped and had to check SMU's website to make sure it really happened before posting it.

Having played as a goalkeeper for 8 years I believe that his positioning was correct. As a goalkeeper you should be hovering just inside or outside the 18 yard box so as to play in a sweeper sort of position when your team is attacking and the ball is deep in the opposing half. To me it looked as though it was an artificial playing surface and the bounce was messed up
